The US alone adds 20 million plastic baggies to landfills every single day. Every reusable bag you use has the potential to eliminate 1000’s of plastic bags over its life span. The snack-sacks and sandwich-sacks that we’ve sent out into the world in the last 2 years alone have kept over 7 million plastic baggies out of the waste stream. That’s 430,000 pounds of plastic!
The approximate measurements for snackTAXI products are as follows:
- Snack Sack: 6″W x 4.5″H
- Sandwich Sack: 7.5″W x 6″H
- Lunch Sack: 10″W x 11″H w/ a 3″ bottom
- Twice As Nice Napkin: 8″ W x 13″ L
- Bulk/Produce Bag: 13″W (26″ circumference opening) x 20″ L
It’s anything goes when it comes to washing your snackTAXIs. They can be machine washed (we recommend unscented detergent) and dried in the dryer, or simply rinsed with water and air dried.
We recommend emptying them after each use to prevent food oils from being absorbed by the fabric, which happens over time.
If sacks get really mucky, or have absorbed some food oils, we’ve found that a soak in boiling water with mild (unscented) soap followed by drying in the hot sun or hot dryer works well!

The exterior of a snackTAXI is comprised of 100% cotton, and the interior is lined with polyurethane coated nylon.
All materials are lead, phthalate and BPA free!
Material sources: the cotton we use is manufactured in Korea, the nylon is manufactured in Taiwan, and all of our products are manufactured in our rural Massachusetts workshop.
We’re currently looking for a recycled nylon, and would love to hear any sourcing suggestions folks might have. We will also be introducing some organic cotton selections this year, to round out our offerings!
If there is a store in your area that you think would be a good match for snackTAXI, we encourage you to visit them and share your idea. Over the years snackTAXIs have made their way into many new communities in just this way! Buyers are welcome to contact us via the wholesale portion of our website, phone, or email.
And please be sure to let us know as well – if a store you suggest places an order with us, we’ll send you a set of snackTAXIs as a thank you!
